Helping people to achieve their best physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being has always been a life-long passion for me. However, having enjoyed a career in healthcare as a registered nurse spanning over 35 years, interspersed with periods of working in secondary education, I experienced first-hand the effects of stress and burnout and I realized it was time for a change of direction. Life has a funny way of showing us different paths and it so happened that a chance meeting led me to discover reflexology. To say that it changed my life is an understatement....I couldn't believe what a difference it made or how I hadn't discovered it earlier! So, I planned my early retirement from the NHS and trained under Allison Walker at Contemporary Reflexology College, graduating with a Centralia Reflexology Mastership/Agored Cymru Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology. The course included specialist training in:
• Reflexology for Enhancing Fertility and Maternity Care
• Adapting Reflexology for Cancer and Palliative Care
• Hand Reflexology
• Auricular Reflexology
• Meridian Reflexology
• NEPIP – NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody (designed to help clients with anxiety and stress).
• Inner Intent Reflexology
• Nutrition facts for Clients and Practitioners
Once I'd successfully completed my reflexology training, fate decided to step in once again with another change of direction and I found myself moving to Wales to be with my children and grandchildren. Having lived in many different places over the years due to family commitments, including living abroad, I have to say this was the best move ever! I fell in love with the beautiful scenery, the woods, the mountains and the coastline and with the people and the amazing community spirit here. I'm very proud and happy to have made this my home and to have set up my therapy practice here within the community.
